1st OF MARCH: Carving and correcting the shapes of the cubes was the work for this
morning. Arriving at the site we found kids playing inside the carved cubes. We were
not really happy about this, the snow is compressed but still fragile when carved out like
this. Later on Sara brought cord to keep the visitors at bay and to make work easier.
The tractor driver Lasse was very interested in the progress of our work. After I had
explained the idea he offered to find some help for the sawing of the ice blocks.
I very much appreciated this after I had seen the huge power saw which had to be
used for this work. I knew I could not handle this.

Nisse was introduced by Lasse as the best power saw man of Norbotten – and he really
was! Nisse did a great job cutting all 7 ice blocks I needed to the required size. Happy
about this great progress we enjoyed dinner and the perfomance ‘Vintervägen’ despite
the cold.
